Back To Home

I felt difficult to pull my eyes away,
away from this little angel I saw today.
Tiny little face with bright innocent eyes,
pouty lips, and heavenly smile.

Tiny fingers on the ever searching hands,
searching for all things bright and new.
Sparkling eyes with twinkling mischief,
can melt stoned hearts to everyone's disbelief.

Tiny little feet trying to stand,
an angel, I thought it can't be true.
I searched for the wings and halo too,
but deep down I knew it was just a child,
just a mere mortal like you and I.

May be an angel resides in all of us;
but as we grow we let it die.
Our love can be our halo and goodwill our wings,
our value gives us sparkle and our faith helps us fly.

We can all be angels, provided we try,
try to bring the goodness back and try again to be a child;
but, alas, the world gives us knowledge, knowledge to earn
knowledge to work, knowledge to think about worldly progress.

Work becomes priority and smile a rare luxury
and hands conditioned to search for penny.
Life becomes less about fun and love,
Life is now more about fame and money.

I yearn to be an angel again,
go away from this world of doom.
I want to go back to the most beautiful place.
I want to sleep again in my Mother's womb.
